Traffic jam means blockade of vehicles on roads and streets. It is a great problem in the urban areas. There are a number of reasons for traffic jam. Violation of traffic rules, unplanned roads and streets, huge number of rickshaws on the roads and unskilled traffic police are the main causes of traffic jam. Illegal parking, narrowness of roads and lanes, unauthorized shops and markets on the sides of the roads also cause traffic jam. Traffic jams mainly happen at the intersections of streets. And it occurs mostly at the peak hour of the day. Traffic jam kills our valuable time. Students, patients, workers, employees are the worst sufferers of traffic jam. Some measures should be taken to get rid of this problem. Unlicensed vehicles must be removed from the roads. Traffic rules should be maintained strictly. If the government take effective initiatives to root out the causes of this problem it is not so difficult to solve.
