A rainy day is a day when it rains all day long. Sometimes it rains cats and dogs and sometimes it drizzles. A rainy day is dull and gloomy. The sky is overcast with thick clouds. On a rainy day man cannot go out for normal activities. Those who have urgent works go out with umbrella over the head, shoes in hand and clothes folded up to knee. The poor people and day laborers become jobless. So they cannot earn their livelihood. Water stands on roads and roads become muddy and slippery. Even birds or animals cannot move at large. School going boys and girls enjoy a rainy day because they do not have to go to school. So they pass the day by playing different indoor games. The rich also enjoy the day. They eat delicious items of food and pass the day by idle gossiping or sitting before a television set. On a whole a rainy day is not very pleasant.
