A Journey by Train/ A Journey I have Recently Enjoyed

A journey by train is getting popular in our country. Recently I have made a journey by train. It was full of excitements and thrills. Perhaps I will never forget it.

During our last winter vacation, my eldest uncle sent me an email. In the mail he asked me to visit him. I was very excited to spend a few days there because my school was closed. My uncle then worked at Jashore. So, I decided to go there by train.

It was 26 December. I got early in the morning. I took my breakfast. My mother gave, me some snacks which I kept in my traveling bag. My sister Runy who is two years senior to me, gave me a book to read on the train. Then I hired a rickshaw and went to the rail station, I reached there at around 9.45 in the morning.

It was Ishwardy rail station. It was crowded with people of different trades and professions. I noticed that there were many ticket counters for different trains. I bought a ticket for the Sunderban Express. It was a 10.15 train and it reached the station at 10.13. I got on the train.

The train started at 10.20. All passengers looked very cheerful. At first it was moving at a slow speed. Suddenly I noticed that it was making a loud noise and we were on the Hardinge Bridge. It is the oldest iron bridge of our country. I could also see the Lalon Shah Bridge just parallel to the Hardinge Bridge. The bridge has connected Pabna and Kushtia Districts.

It was around 11 o'clock and the train was running at a high speed. I could see through the window that all trees along the rail track seemed to go backwards rapidly. It was amazing. We were leaving trees, plants, rivers, ponds, green fields, cattle, villages, houses and human beings behind us. It stopped at Veramara, Alamdanga only for a few minutes. It reached Jashore at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. When I got down the train I found that my uncle was waiting there. It was a boundless joy for me to see my uncle.

A journey by train is really a blessing of modern transportation system. If you get on it, you will feel safe and sound.

একটি রেল ভ্রমণ/ সম্প্রতি আমি যে রেলভ্রমণ করেছি

রেলভ্রমণ আমাদের দেশে জনপ্রিয় হচ্ছে। সম্প্রতি আমি একট রেলগাড়িতে ভ্রমণ করেছি। এটা ছিল উত্তেজনা ও রোমাঞ্চে পূর্ণ। সম্ভবত আমি কখনও এটা ভুলবো না।

গত শীতের ছুটিতে আমার বড় চাচা আমাকে একটি ই-মেইল পাঠালেন। ই-মেইলে তিনি আমাকে তার কাছে যাওয়ার জন্য বললেন। আমি সেখানে কয়েকদিন কাটানোর জন্য খুবই রোমাঞ্চিত ছিলাম কারণ আমার স্কুল ছিল বন্ধ। আমার চাচা তখন যশোরে চাকটি করতেন। তাই আমি ট্রেনে করে সেখানে যাওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিলাম।

দিনটি ছিল ২৬ ডিসেম্বর। আমি খুব সকালে ঘুম থেকে উঠলাম। আমি সকালের নাশতা খেলাম। আমার মা আমাকে কিছু হালকা খাবার দিয়েছিলেন যা আমি আমার ব্যাগে রাখলাম। আমার দুই বছরের বড় বোন রুনি আমাকে ট্রেনে বসে পড়ার জন্য একটা বই দিল। এরপর আমি একটি রিকশা ভাড়া করলাম এবং রেল স্টেশনে গেলাম। আমি সকাল ৯.৪৫ মি. সেখানে পৌঁছলাম।

এটা ছিল ঈশ্বরদি রেলস্টেশন। বিভিন্ন পেশার লোকে এটা জনাকীর্ণ ছিল। আমি লক্ষ্য করলাম সেখানে বিভিন্ন ট্রেনের জন্য অনেক টিকেট কাউন্টার রয়েছে। আমি সুন্দরবন এক্সপ্রেস-এর একটি টিকিট কাটলাম। এটা ছিল ১০.১৫ মি.-এর ট্রেন এবং এটা স্টেশনে পৌঁছল ১০.১৩ মিনিটে। আমি ট্রেনে উঠলাম।

১০.২০ মিনিটে ট্রেনটি চলতে শুরু করল। সকল যাত্রীকে খুব উৎফুল্ল মনে হল। প্রথমে এটা ধীর গতিতে চলছিল। হঠাৎ আমি ট্রেনটিকে উচ্চ শব্দ করতে শুনলাম এবং দেখলাম আমরা হার্ডিঞ্জ সেতুর উপর। এটা আমাদের দেশের সবচেয়ে পুরনো লোহার সেতু। আমি হার্ডিঞ্জ সেতুর ঠিক পাশাপাশি লালন শাহ সেতুও দেখতে পেলাম। সেতুটি পাবনা এবং কুষ্টিয়া জেলাকে সংযুক্ত করেছে।

সময় তখন ১১টা, আর ট্রেনটি তখন পূর্ণ গতিতে চলছিল। আমি জানালা দিয়ে দেখতে পেলাম রেল লাইনের পাশের গাছগুলো যেন দ্রুতগতিতে পেছনের দিকে চলে যাচ্ছে। এটা ছিল বিস্ময়কর। আমরা গাছপালা, চারা, নদী, পুকুর, সবুজ মাঠ, গবাদিপশু, গ্রাম, বাড়িঘর এবং মানুষ সবকিছু পেছনে ফেলে আসছিলাম। এটা ভেড়ামারা, আলমডাঙ্গায় মাত্র কয়েক মিনিটের জন্য থামল। এটা বিকেল ৪টায় যশোর পৌঁছল। যখন আমি ট্রেন থেকে নামলাম তখন দেখলাম যে আমার চাচা সেখানে অপেক্ষা করছেন। আমার চাচাকে সেখানে দেখতে পাওয়াটা ছিল অপরিসীম আনন্দের।

রেলভ্রমণ আসলেই আধুনিক পরিবহন ব্যবস্থার এক আশীর্বাদ। তুমি এটাতে ভ্রমণ করলে নিরাপদ ও আরাম বোধ করবে।
