It was an autumn vacation. I enjoyed a journey by boat from Mymensingh to Jamalpur along the river Brahmaputra The journey started early in the morning when we boarded a wooden boat. The boat was not very big, but it was comfortable and had enough space for all of us. We were a group of eight people, including two boatmen.

As we set off, the sun was just rising, and the sky was filled with hues of orange and red. The weather was calm, and we could see the reflection of the sky on the surface of the river. As we left the din and bustle of the town behind, the river in Bangladesh greeted us with its vast water stretching as far as the eyes could see. It reminded us of the past trading activities through river ways. We passed by small villages on the banks of the river, and we saw people going about their daily lives. Some were fishing, others were bathing or washing their clothes.'

The boat journey took us through different waterways, including canals and streams, where we saw a variety of bird life. We saw herons, kingfishers, and many other species of birds. The scenery was stunning, with green fields and trees lining the banks of the waterways.
At about 10 a.m, we stopped at a small village along the riverside. We had the chance to explore the village and interact with the locals. They were very friendly and hospitable. We bought some snacks for breakfast. Back on the boat, we enjoyed the traditional snacks and tea while taking in the sights and sounds of the river.

One of the highlights of the journey was when we stopped at a village to take our lunch. We saw there how the locals make traditional pottery. The potters skillfully shaped the clay into different objects, such as pots, cups, and plates. We even had the opportunity to try our hand at making some pottery ourselves, which was a lot of fun.
