Nowadays load shedding has become a common word in our country. Load shedding means the shortage of the supply of electricity for the time being. It happens when the production of power is less than the demand. The concerned authority stops the flow of electricity to some areas for some time to manage the shortage of power generation. Load-shedding is almost a daily occurrence in cities, towns, suburbs and villages. There is hardly any area which is not affected by it. Shops, factories, hospitals, etc. are all affected by it. Industries and mills are paralyzed and production is hampered for this. Even operation stops in hospitals for load-shedding. Closing their books students sit idle in darkness and curse the authority during the load-shedding. In fact, it should not be allowed to continue in the present situation. The whole country is bound to collapse if the present condition is not improved. The government should take necessary steps to check it as early as possible. Accordingly the government should set up more power stations in the country, Corruptions in this sector must be controlled with an iron hand.

আমাদের দেশে সম্প্রতি বিদ্যুৎ বিভ্রাট অতি পরিচিত শব্দে পরিণত হয়েছে। বিদ্যুৎ বিভ্রাট হলো একটি সাময়িক সময়ের জন্য বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহ বন্ধ থাকা। যখন চাহিদার থেকে বিদ্যুৎ উৎপাদন কম থাকে তখন বিদ্যুৎ বিভ্রাট হয়। সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষ বিদ্যুৎ উৎপাদনের ঘাটতি মেটানোর জন্য কিছু এলাকায় কিছু সময়ের জন্য বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহ বন্ধ রাখে। বিদ্যুৎ বিভ্রাট শহর, নগর, শহরতলি, গ্রাম সব জায়গাতেই প্রতিদিনের ঘটনা হয়ে পড়েছে। 'এমন কোনো এলাকা খুঁজে পাওয়া যাবে না যে এলাকা বিদ্যুৎ বিভ্রাটে আক্রান্ত নয়। দোকান, ফ্যাক্টরি, হাসপাতাল বিদ্যুৎ বিভ্রাটে আক্রান্ত। শিল্পকারখানা সে সময়ের জন্য নিশ্চল হয়ে পড়ে এবং এর ফলে উৎপাদন বিঘ্নিত হয়। এমনকী হাসপাতালে অপারেশন বন্ধ হয়ে যায়। বিদ্যুৎ বিভ্রাটের সময় ছাত্ররা বই বন্ধ করে অন্ধকারে অলসভাবে বসে থাকে এবং কর্তৃপক্ষকে অভিশাপ দেয়। প্রকৃতপক্ষে বর্তমান পরিস্থিতিতে এটি চলতে দেওয়া যায় না। যদি অবস্থার উন্নতি না করা যায় তবে গোটা দেশ ধ্বংসের মুখোমুখি হতে বাধ্য। যত দ্রুত সম্ভব বিদ্যুৎ বিভ্রাট নিয়ন্ত্রণ করতে সরকারের পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করা উচিত। এ পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে সরকারের উচিত দেশে আরও বিদ্যুৎ স্টেশন স্থাপন করা। এক্ষেত্রে দুর্নীতি কঠোর হস্তে নিয়ন্ত্রণ করতে হবে।
